Edinburgh Food Studio is a fairly recent addition to the Edinburgh food scene. Launched by a really successful Kickstarter about a year ago, this establishment is part restaurant, part culinary school and I have been meaning to give it a go ever since it opened.
When Edinburgh is as busy as it is during the month of August, it can be pretty hard to imagine that there are any tranquil pockets left in town. Thankfully, you can normally find a peaceful oasis just a few minutes walk from the city centre. Case in point: Dean Village.
Festival season is here, and with it comes lots of fresh and exciting pop up bars and restaurants for people to either relax in in between shows or spend the whole night experiencing something a little different. I was invited along to experience one such pop up last week – a temporary jazz bar called Kansas Smitty’s which can be found in the achingly cool Biscuit Factory in Leith.
Boxsmall, the family friendly festival market, has returned to the the rooftop of Waverley Mall for 2016. I was recently asked along to experience this year’s offering, which includes a new nine hole golf course, so I popped along with Mr Bug for a round and a bite to eat.
